- Robbie Kaye is a photographer who traveled in her car to salons throughout the US to photograph and interview women in their 70's, 80's and 90's, while at their weekly beauty parlor appointments. Why? To learn about these women and invite change as it pertains to the perception of beauty and how beauty is in fact...ageless. Beauty and Wisdom is a preservation of a diminishing population of women and fading aspects of American culture as well as a reminder that these women are vibrant and thriving in a society that focuses on the beauty of youth. Robbie is from New York and resides in Southern California. Her work is published in Gourmet, Allure, LensCulture, D'Republica,F-Stop Online Magazine and Lenscratch Photography Blog. Robbie’s work is installed at the University of Southern California, where she was a staff-photographer. Her work from Beauty and Wisdom has been featured in the Month of Photography, Los Angeles Group Show, and has received awards from the International Aperture Awards. Her published book, "Rendezvous with Light," features Robbie's photography and the poetry of Carol Muske Dukes, California Poet Laureate.

thanks for posting this, robbie. i see that you are also unable to "share" through blogger :-( for the life of me, i just can't seem to figure out a way around this dilemma, but as aunt ruth said, "there are just some problems that you can't fix."
